I'm sure this makes me a bad person, or means that my brain is turning to mush, but can I just say that I LOVED "Joe Millionaire?"

I loved "The Bachelor," too, and I think that Fox's twist -- while totally reprehensible -- actually addresses one of the biggest problems of that show -- namely, both Bachelors were smarm-balls. And while it's always fun to watch women be catty and competitive, the fun is diminished when they're clawing each other's eyes out over a guy so puffed up with entitlement that you could roll him down the street. Whereas Joe M.at least appears to be somewhat humble and sweet (I know, I know, it could just be the editing, and he could be faking it, and he's got fame ambitious same as Alex and Aaron did). Instead of rooting for the women, I found myself actually on the boy's side -- although I think it's a fool's errand to try to find a woman who loves you for who you are while you're pretending to be someone you're not. (interesting side-note -- the professionally successful women who said it was important for them to be with a guy who's "ambitious" -- but seemed perfectly content to claw it out for a man who'd just fallen into a money pit, and didn't earn it).

And instead of a poor guy pretending to be rich, wouldn't it be more interesting to watch a handsome guy pretending to be ugly? Although I'm not sure how they'd pull that off. Body double? Ugly suit?
